Studio or one-bedroom in Phuket: what to rent for a month+

20 August 2026 · 4 min read

For a week the difference between a studio and a one-bedroom barely registers. For a month or more it defines your quality of life.

Prices and space

  • Studio, 25–35 m²: 12,000–18,000 THB/month mid-market
  • One-bedroom, 35–55 m²: 18,000–30,000 — a 30–50% premium

What the separate bedroom buys

  • Aircon only in the bedroom at night — a cooler bill than chilling an entire studio (why this matters)
  • Remote work: one person on calls in the living room, the other asleep — in a studio that's war
  • The kitchen away from the bed: cooking smells don't live in your pillow
  • Guests or a child fit on the living-room sofa

When a studio is enough

Solo travellers; couples with identical schedules; anyone home only to sleep. A good studio in a beachfront complex often beats a distant one-bedroom — location outranks square metres on holiday.

The rule of thumb

Under a month — studio near the beach. A month+ for two — one-bedroom: the premium works out to a few dollars a day for a second climate-controlled living zone. Working remotely — one-bedroom, no debate: nomad checklist. Both formats with direct prices — in the catalogue.
